DESCRIPTION:BALOO Training \n  \n Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training has recently been revised and is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping, overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. This includes what used to be part of OWLS (Outdoor Webelos Leadership Skills). \n  \n  \n BALOO training is now comprised of two components – an online component, and a practical, hands-on component. Both components must be completed to qualify as a trained Cub Scout outdoor leader. \n  \n  \n The online component contains introductory and basic information and must be completed prior to the practical component at my.scouting.org. The practical component is an overnight that takes about 16-hours to complete and will include meals. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n Registration \n  \n   \n  \n  \n WHO: For all Cub Scout Leaders and interested Scouts. \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n TIME: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Overnight training. Both days required.) \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n DATE: September 20-21, 2025 September 27-28, 2025 \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n PLACE: Camp Karankawa, 3249 FM 1459 Rd., Sweeny, TX 77480 \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n COST: $40, Food will be provided, but participants in BALOO training will be doing the cooking! \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n CONTACT: Andy Tirpak at andyt.bactraining@gmail.com  \n  \n  \n   \n  \n  \n PLEASE BRING: \n  \n  \n Tent \n  \n Sleeping gear (sleeping bag; sleeping pad; sheets, etc.) \n  \n Class A shirt  \n  \n Eating utensils – to include plate/bowl, spork, cup, etc.  \n  \n Pen & paper \n  \n Camp chair \n  \n Sunscreen & mosquito spray \n  \n Rain gear (if needed) \n  \n  \n  \n REGISTER BY: September 24, 2025 \n  \n
