Camp-O-Ree 2025

Camp-O-Ree is a weekend campout for troops, crews and ships. Scouts will compete as groups in various competitions, so get ready to put your Scouting Spirit on display, while also promoting Scout skills, teamwork and the patrol method in your unit.

Registration

WHO: We suggest you enter patrols of no more than 6 and no fewer than 4*. Limited to the first 150 Scouts.

WHAT: Camp-O-Ree for Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts & Venturers.  

LOCATION: Camp Karankawa - 3249 FM 1459 Rd., Sweeny, TX 77480

DATE: March 28-30, 2025 (Register by March 14, 2025. No late registrations will be added.) 

- Load in time - 5 p.m., Friday
- Check in time - 6 p.m., Friday
- Trailer drop off - 4 p.m., Thursday. Contact Camp Ranger DK Hopwood at 979-248-4330 to arrange a time.

COST: (Includes a patch)
$25 per Scout, Sea Scout, Venturer
$10 per adult
Staff are complimentary

 

What to bring

  • BSA Health and Medical form (Parts A & B for all participants)
  • Bring Class A uniform (or Field uniform) and Class B t-shirt 
  • Closed toes shoes (i.e., tennis shoes)
  • Patrol Flag
  • Food (you must provide all of your own meals. This is part of the cooking competition.)
  • Cooking gear
  • Water bottle
  • Camping gear
  • Rain gear, if needed
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will only be granted and paid to the original paying customer - the unit or individual. Refunds will only be considered under certain circumstances (sickness, death in family, summer school, military deployment or relocation) as long as it is requested in writing, with back-up documentation, and received in the Scout Service Center, 3020 53rd Street, Galveston, TX 77551-5917. A 15% processing fee will be applied to all refunds. Refund requests due to light weather issues, homesickness, schedule conflicts, misinterpretation of printed council policies and procedures or reasons other than those noted above do not qualify. In addition, partial refunds will not be granted for partial camp/event stays. If a camp or event is forced to be canceled by the council, because of severe weather, or circumstances prior to the camp or event occurring, the council will reschedule the camp/event or initiate the refund process. All refund requests are due to the council office no later than 15 days after the close of the event. Refunds will be issued in the form of the original payment within 30 days after a formal decision has been made.
