Merit Badge Instructors

Counselors Needed!

We are looking for counselors who can come out for a morning shift (8 a.m.-Noon), afternoon shift (1-5 p.m.) or all day from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Morning check-in will be at 7 a.m.

All instructors must be registered with BSA and have up to date Youth Protection Training completed online at www.myScouting.org

The merit badge counselor is a key player in the advancement program. Merit badge counselors must be registered with BSA (position code 42) for the class that they are teaching. Whatever your area of expertise or interest, as a merit badge counselor, you can play a vital role in stirring a youth's curiosity about that particular topic.

We must ensure that every participant “actually and personally completes each requirement” (review the Guide to Advancement section 7.0.3.2, which gives specific requirements and guidance for group instruction.)

BLUE CARDS & COMPLETIONS

National recommends using Scoutbook to record the advancements. Please read the document here.

Completions must be sent to each Scout, Scout parent and the Council.

Merit Badge Counselors will be issued blue cards, and all worksheets for their course.

Cost
$55.00 per Participant
